A dog was discovered tied up inside a trash bag in Transylvania, Romania, and was almost dead. They had abandoned him in a garbage, expecting the worms to consume him and kill him, but fate had something else in store for him—a surprise and a second shot at life.

His leg was fractured, and the worms had begun eating him alive, when the folks who found him unzipped the sack. The poor creature had a severe head injury from the beatings he had taken, was severely dehydrated, and was famished.

The animal was brought to Transylvania Animal Care, where emergency medical attention was given. The name “Anora,” which means “light,” was given to the pup, who later revealed to be a female.

Anora’s current human mother, Helen Taylor, explained to Boredpanda:

It’s thought that the owner of this tiny dog abused him severely in an effort to kill him.

Doctors removed the worms that were consuming her and treated the swelling on her head.

Anora was eventually transferred to the UK, where Helen Taylor and her devoted family adopted her.

She was unable to walk and was close to passing away, but thanks to life, she now has a loving home and will soon be able to run and play with other dogs.
